Kevin Harvick was the leader at the halfway point in the Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes at Bristol Motor Speedway, which was in its second red flag because of rain after 273 laps.

Carl Edwards took the lead from Harvick on Lap 257 of 500.

Harvick had led four times for 182 laps, while Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kurt Busch had led 63 laps, Greg Biffle paced six laps, and pole sitter Matt Kenseth had led five laps in a race that featured a red flag for 3 hours and 58 minutes because of rain after 22 laps.

The top 10 currently: Edwards, Harvick, Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne, Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, Tony Stewart and Justin Allgaier

Kurt Busch is in the top three despite missing crew chief Tony Gibson because of a kidney stone.

There have been only four cautions for 37 laps, the first a result of Team Penske teammates Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski crashing on Lap 19. The second came once the first red flag ended, and the third was on Lap 161 for water on the track in Turn 2.

After undergoing repairs, the drivers who finished 1-2 in the fall race at Bristol last year currently run 41st and 42nd and are down 18 and 58 laps respectively.

Erik Jones had to replace Denny Hamlin in No. 11 FedEx Toyota due to back spasms after the red flag period and was running 31st, two laps down at the halfway point.
