Viva Motorsports announced Tuesday that Xfinity Series newcomer Brandon Gdovic again will replace Jamie Dick in the No. 55 Chevrolet Camaro in Friday’s Toyota Care 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

Gdovic, a native of Yorktown, Va., made his Xfinity Series debut two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway, finishing 26th after starting 29th.

Dick remains sidelined with new onset diabetes, diagnosed after being hospitalized following March’s race at Phoenix.

“I’m very thankful that Viva Motorsports is bringing me back for Richmond,” Gdovic said in a media release. “Being able to race on a track I’m familiar with, and to do it in front of friends and family is something I’ve looked forward to for a long time.

“Having the experience to carry over from Texas will go a long way, especially on my home track. … My goal this weekend is a clean race and a Top-20 finish.”
