As you might expect, the Sprint Cup point standings had significant shuffling after Sunday’s Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Kevin Harvick remains on top of the standings, leading new second-ranked Martin Truex Jr. by 40 points.
While Harvick stayed No. 1, 23 of the next 24 places in the standings saw changes.
One of the biggest gainers was race winer Dale Earnhardt Jr., who jumped three spots to 5th in the standings with his 24th career victory and sixth at Talladega.
Also gaining three spots – the most any driver improved – were Kurt Busch (up to 15th), AJ Allmendinger (up to 19th) and Sam Hornish Jr. (up to 28th).
Suffering the biggest drop in the standings was Kyle Larson, who fell four positions to 24th.
