Car owner Tommy Baldwin will take over crew chief duties for Alex Bowman this weekend at Kansas Speedway with Kevin “Bono” Manion’s departure to serve as Sam Hornish Jr.'s crew chief at Richard Petty Motorsports.

“I’m very happy for Bono; we’ve been friends a long time, and I wish him nothing but the best,” Baldwin said in a statement from the team. “Climbing atop the pit box is somewhat of a familiar role for me and I look forward to working with Alex.”

Baldwin, in his seventh year as a Sprint Cup Series team owner, was the winning crew chief in the 2001 Southern 500 and 2002 Daytona 500 for Ward Burton.
