Carl Edwards finally visited victory lane Sunday as a member of Joe Gibbs Racing, winning the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
It’s Edwards’ first win in 31 races when he earned his last win for Roush Fenway Racing in 2014 at Sonoma. It’s also Edwards’ first points win at Charlotte in 21 races.
Edwards came out on top of a fuel mileage battle with Gregg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. The top five was filled out by polesitter Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr., who led a race high 131 laps.
