Even though Regan Smith finished eighth in the Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250, he was the highest finisher in the Xfinity Dash4Cash race-within-a-race.
Smith claimed his second straight Dash4Cash win and its $100,000 prize. Two more races remain: Bristol next month and Darlington in early September. The overall winner of the contest will win a $1 million grand prize.
Smith spoke with NBC Sports and explained how his team tried several strategies to work their way through the field (see video above).
