NASCAR on Wednesday leveled a P3 penalty against the No. 98 Sprint Cup team of Premium Motorsports due to an infraction that occurred last weekend at Indianapolis.

The penalty, which falls under Sections 12:1; 12.5.3.3.1; 20.3.5 of the NASCAR Rule Book, is “for having an unattached weight leave the car during practice on July 24” at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, according to a NASCAR statement.

Crew chief Scott Eggleston was fined $25,000 and, barring appeal, is suspended for the next Sprint Cup points-paying race, which would be this weekend’s Sprint Cup race at Pocono. Eggleston was also placed on probation through Dec. 31.

Car chief Kevin Eagle was also suspended for the next Sprint Cup points-paying race (Pocono), pending appeal, and was placed on probation through Dec. 31.

Lastly, team owner Mike Curb was penalized 15 championship car owner points.

Timmy Hill has driven the car for the last two Sprint Cup races, replacing Josh Wise, who left the team after the race at Kentucky three weeks ago.
