BK Racing announced Tuesday morning that its drivers Jeb Burton and J.J. Yeley would be swapping teams for the final 12 races of the 2015 Sprint Cup season

Beginning with the Sept. 6 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Burton will be driving the No. 23 Toyota while Yeley will take over the No. 26.

Burton, in his rookie Sprint Cup season, has 18 starts in 24 races. His average finish is 36.4 with his best result of 29th coming at Martinsville Speedway.

“Coming into it, I didn’t think it’d be as tough as it was because I had somewhat success,” Burton told NASCAR.com, “but in the Truck Series and the (Xfinity) Series, the competition level is high up front, but it’s … one through 43 in the Cup Series is the best of the best. The best people, the best drivers, the best teams. You’ve got to be on it and our guys are working hard as a low-budget team. We’re getting better every week.”

Yeley, in his 11th season of Sprint Cup racing, has an average finish of 34.7 through 23 races this year. His best result in 2015 was 14th at Talladega.

“We are trying something different to improve performance for BK Racing,” said team owner Ron Devine on BK Racing’s Facebook page. “We are confident and proud of our drivers and employees, but we are looking to try some different combinations to improve our results.”

The crew chiefs assignments on the cars will remain the same, with Burton working with Joe Williams and Yeley with Patrick Donahue.
