After six years of sponsoring JTG Daugherty Racing in the season-opening Daytona 500, The Kroger Co. announced that it will expand its sponsorship of the single-car Sprint Cup team.

According to a media release, Kroger will be a primary sponsor for at least 24 races per season for multiple years. The new partnership debuts this weekend and Allmendinger will drive the rebranded No. 47 Kroger/Hungry Jack Chevrolet.

“Obviously, expanding our relationship with the largest grocery retailer in America is huge for our team and sponsors; but is equally significant for the NASCAR industry,” JTG owner Tad Geschickter said in a media release.

Driver AJ Allmendinger has one career Sprint Cup victory, two pole awards, seven top-five finishes, 37 top-10 finishes and made the Chase last season for JTG Daugherty.

JTG Daugherty is in its second season of a technical alliance with ECR Engines and Richard Childress Racing.
