  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Jennings can earn up to $10.5 million this season, instead of the previous $7.5 million. Jennings had been in a contract dispute with the 49ers for much of the preseason while also dealing with a calf injury. He returned to practice this week and now gets a contract bump in the form of play-time incentives. The 28-year-old caught 77-of-113 targets for 975 yards and six touchdowns last season. With Brandon Aiyuk still working his way back from a torn ACL and other wide receiver injuries, Jennings is in line for a large workload beside Ricky Pearsall this season. Jennings is a fantasy WR4 heading into the season.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #13
Kirk was headed for the No. 2 wide receiver role in Houston, but his Week 1 status is now in jeopardy. He popped up on the injury report with a hamstring issue and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Braxton Berrios (hamstring) also did not practice. With Kirk and Berrios potentially out against the Rams, rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel will see a more immediate increase in targets Week 1.
  • LA Quarterback #9
Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Monday that he expected Stafford to start Week 1. Stafford’s omission from Wednesday’s injury report affirms that, with the 37-year-old quarterback saying he has “no issues with a physical game.” Though it seems the Rams will have no restrictions with Stafford, its hard to believe he won’t at least be popping up on the injury report every now and then. Fantasy managers can approach Stafford as a QB2 this season.
  • MIA Tight End #83
Waller came out of retirement to play for the Dolphins after they traded away Jonnu Smith early in the offseason. the age-32 tight end was initially placed on the PUP list to allow him to get back into football shape before practicing. Now it appears as though he is dealing with an actual injury, though head coach Mike McDaniel said earlier this week that Waller is on track to play in Week 1. Still, the lack of practice and Waller’s lack of live reps over the past year make him a clear stay-away for fantasy purposes. He will hang out at the bottom of the TE2 ranks until we see what his role looks like versus the Colts.
  • GB Defensive Lineman #1
We expect Parsons to be on the field when the Packers host the Lions in Week 1, but it’s possible they limit his snap count. Parsons joins a talented Packers defensive unit that will thoroughly test new Lions OC John Morton’s mettle. The Packers have notably officially switched Parsons to a generic defensive line positional designation. Packers CB Nate Hobbs (knee) did not practice.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #10
Shakir appears to have successfully rehabbed the high-ankle sprain he suffered on August 1st. The Bills face the Ravens’ top-tier defense in Week 1, but Shakir’s role as a high-volume target earner helps keep him in the WR3 ranks in PPR leagues. He should serve as Josh Allen’s go-to receiver in crunch time.
  • SF Wide Receiver #15
Jennings was limited in Wednesday’s practice, which backs up Shanahan’s expectation. The 49ers’ veteran wide receiver resumed practicing on Monday after an extended absence, ostensibly related to his calf. The contract dispute may also have been a factor. The 49ers could ease Jennings into action due to the short ramp-up period but Shanahan typically funnels touches to his top playmakers the moment they return. Jennings is WR3-viable against Seattle.
  • LAC Running Back #22
Harris missed the entirety of training camp while recovering from an eye injury suffered during a fireworks incident over the weekend of July 4th. He managed to avoid the NFI list to start the year and is at least going to be active for Week 1. Still, missing that much time during the offseason likely has Harris at less than his peak conditioning. He also gave first-round rookie Omarion Hampton two months to run with the starting offense. Harris will open the year as a backup running back and an RB5 for fantasy purposes.
  • NE Cornerback #0
Gonzalez has been dealing with the hamstring issue for well over a month and has yet to return to practice. A DNP to open the week suggests the young corner will be sidelined for New England’s 2025 opener versus the Raiders. Gonzalez was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise poor Patriots defense last year. Even after making several notable additions in the offseaosn, losing him for Week 1 will be a big blow to the Pats. It will also give Geno Smith a boost in the rankings for his first game as a Raider.
  • Per Schefter, AVT is getting a second opinion to confirm that season-ending surgery is necessary. Barring a surprise, Vera-Tucker appears to be done for the year. He should be placed on injured reserve later this week. Vera-Tucker was set to be an integral part of a Jets offensive line built for pounding the rock. Now they will be down a starting offensive lineman and a standout from training camp just days before the start of the season. Vera-Tucker was set to play on his fifth-year option in 2025, meaning he will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
