  • TB Wide Receiver #14
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Godwin is recovering from a second surgery he underwent in the spring to repair some hardware he had put in his ankle. It was reported earlier that Godwin and the Bucs are targeting a Week 5 return, but Rapoport reports “Week 6 is also possible” as a return date. The Buccaneers made the decision to keep Godwin off injured reserve to start the season, and now appear ready to ramp him up for a return next month. If all goes well, Godwin is likely looking at multiple weeks of practice before he takes to the field. He avoided injured reserve to start the year, but there’s little reason to expect an early return, keeping the fantasy stocks for Mike Evans and rookie Emeka Egbuka high.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Rapoport specifically said his “understanding is that Purdy is out 2-5 weeks.” We will likely get a more definite timeline from Kyle Shanahan in the coming days, but it sounds like Purdy is a near lock to miss Week 2’s game against the Saints and is also unlikely to play in Week 3 against the Cardinals. Purdy is reportedly dealing with a ligament injury that is affecting the bottom of his foot, and his absence will pave the way for Mac Jones to make his first start in a 49ers uniform since being acquired by the team this offseason. All fantasy expectations for all pass-catchers in the Niners’ offense should be scaled back a bit in Jones’ first start. However, Jauan Jennings’ (shoulder) Week 2 status is murky and George Kittle (hamstring) is on injured reserve, which could result in a busy day for Ricky Pearsall.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel also indicated that the “in-house disciplinary process,” which involves “an effort” to interview the alleged victim, has been activated. Hill was recently accused of eight instances of domestic violence “in a court filing submitted in connection with a divorce case.” Florio notes that Hill pleaded guilty to “domestic assault and battery by strangulation” 10 years ago, which could count as “an aggravating factor in connection with any punishment Hill may face,” if the league deems he violated the Personal Conduct Policy.
  • SF Quarterback #13
Shanahan also mentioned that it could be a multi-week injury for Purdy, though he didn’t give an exact timeline for his return. Purdy won’t practice on Wednesday after sustaining multiple injuries in Week 1 against the Seahawks. Jauan Jennings also suffered a shoulder injury in that game and George Kittle landed on injured reserve with a hamstring issue. Mac Jones is in line to make his first start as a 49er and will do so in a relatively easy matchup versus the Saints. Though he is far from a one-for-one replacement for Purdy, Jones should be able to execute the basics of Shanahan’s scheme. He will register as a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes, making him worth an add in Superflex leagues.
  • BUF Running Back #4
A limited session this early in the week is typically nothing to be concerned with, but Cook’s role is already relatively light with both Ty Johnson and Ray Davis earning a few touches every week. Even a minor decline in usage because of this injury would be a notable blow to his fantasy outlook. Cook only logged 13 carries in Week 1 but managed to find the end zone and pitched in through the air with five receptions. For now, Cook can still be penciled in as a low-end RB1 for Week 2, but fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on the Bills’ injury report for the rest of the week.
  • WAS Running Back #30
Ekeler popped up on the injury report with a shoulder issue earlier this week and was limited for all three practices. It looks like that was all maintenance as he doesn’t have an injury status heading into Thursday’s game. Ekeler earned six carries and three catches in Week 1, ceding 10 carries to rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Even a minor shoulder issue should keep a ceiling on how much work Ekeler sees, relegating him to the RB4 ranks for Week 2.
  • PHI Tight End #88
Goedert did not practice Wednesday. The good news is that it supposedly is “not believed to be a long-term injury,” and may not even sideline him for Week 2. However, Goedert has played the entire season just once since entering the NFL in 2018 and it was his rookie campaign. He missed a total of seven games in 2024 with knee and hamstring issues. Goedert got off to a hot start this year with a team-high seven catches in Philly’s Week 1 win over the Cowboys. Even if he is active for Week 2, the veteran tight end will likely take a backseat to Philly’s elite wide receiver duo when they square off against the Chiefs.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #12
Hunter only played six snaps on defense in his NFL debut. Coen said he didn’t expect to use Hunter a ton on defense in Week 1 and it was always the plan to ramp up his defensive snaps as the season progressed. He also noted that the Bengals, Jacksonville’s Week 2 opponent, have a pair of elite wide receivers, further illustrating the team’s need for Hunter to play corner on Sunday. On offense, Hunter was targeted eight times and caught six of his looks, though he only managed 33 yards. Assuming an increase in defensive snaps doesn’t hamstring his role on offense, Hunter is a PPR WR3 for a potential shootout with the Bengals.
  • KC Wide Receiver #1
Reid noted that Worthy won’t practice on Wednesday, but it’s still as good of an update as you could hope for after seeing the hit he took from Travis Kelce in the Chiefs’ 2025 opener. Kelce and Worthy collided on a crossing route, sending the 165-pound receiver to the turf and ending his night on the first drive. Reid called him day-to-day after the game. It would be a surprise to see Worthy play in Week 2 against the Eagles, but the good news is that this isn’t a long-term issue. The Chiefs would have put Worthy on injured reserve if they were certain he would miss at least four games. For now, Hollywood Brown will be tasked with operating as Kansas City’s No. 1 receiver. Brown saw 16 targets last week, turning them into 10 catches for 99 yards. The target volume alone makes Brown a WR2 for Week 2.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #5
London left the Falcons’ Week 1 loss to the Bucs in the fourth quarter and did not return after being listed as questionable. The contest was nearly over when London went down. It’s possible he could have made his way onto the field had Atlanta forced overtime. Morris mentioned how tough London is and said he also expects him to practice on Wednesday. London earned a massive 36 percent target share in Week 1, good for 15 looks in total. Likely facing negative game script versus the Vikings on the road, he should get peppered with opportunities once again, keeping him in the WR1 ranks despite the minor injury scare.
