Dowdle did not practice once this week before being ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Browns. The mini-bye ahead of Week 5 may help him get back on the field, but his status for next week’s contest is very much up in the air. Jaylen Warren will see the bulk of the backfield work versus Cleveland. he ran 17 times and caught three passes in Week 3. With an elite workload versus a middling Cleveland defense, Warren is a high-end RB2 this week.

Jefferson seemingly has a chance to face the Dolphins in Week 4, but his participation level at Thursday and Friday’s practices should give us a better sense of his availability. If active against the Dolphins, Jefferson would be startable as a WR1 despite the injury. He caught 2-of-2 targets for 32 yards on seven snaps last week before exiting.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Collins had a “decent chance” to return in Week 4. Even a limited practice today is a big step in the right direction. The winless Texans desperately need a playmaker on offense and Collins is their only option. While he could be on a pitch count in his first game back, Collins has to be in fantasy lineups the moment he is cleared to play.

Hensley noted that Jackson spoke to the media before practice and talked as if he was good to go for Week 4, so this might be nothing. Jackson threw a dart to Zay Flowers on the Ravens’ final offensive play of Week 3, so he appeared fine the last time he was on the field. We will get more info when the team’s first injury report of the week drops later today. Tyler Huntley is Baltimore’s backup.

Reed suffered the neck injury in Week 1. The injury-plagued wideout will miss the rest of the year and could have a long way back to full health. It’s a difficult situation for a talented pass catcher. Reed’s absence has meant more snaps and routes for Tucker Kraft, who profiles as a top-12 tight end going forward.

Mitchell hurt his finger late last week and missed New York’s Week 3 game against the Lions. He could miss their Week 4 tilt against the Bears too. With Mitchell sidelined last week, Garrett Wilson had a dominant 49 percent air yards share to go along with 13 targets. Kenyon Sadiq, who had eight targets in Week 3, would once again be viable if Mitchell is sidelined in Week 4.

Hall went down with a quad injury on Sunday against the Lions and did not return to the game. Braelon Allen took over as the Jets’ lead back, a role he’ll likely continue to occupy in Week 4 against the Bears’ gettable rush defense if Hall is sidelined. Allen should be rostered in all leagues and could be a top-20 option in Week 4.

Wright was inactive with his foot injury last week against Kansas City. De’Von Achane went down with a season-ending ACL injury and Ollie Gordon took over as the team’s workhorse with no other running back on the active roster. Dolphins coaches have implied that both Gordon and Wright will get work in the Miami backfield with Achane out. An even backfield split would make both Wright and Gordon nothing more than deep-league flex plays.

Douglas, who has shown flashes in limited action so far this season, did not suit up in Week 3 against the Chiefs and looks like a long shot for Week 4 against the Vikings. Douglas’ absence would be a potential boost for Malik Washington, who leads the Dolphins in targets and air yards through Week 3. Minnesota’s defense, while elite, has allowed the fourth most air yards this season and profiles as a pass-funnel.

Asked about Ward’s continuing footwork disaster, Saleh said the second-year quarterback “usually starts off good then fades into old habits.” Titans beat writer Terry McCormick then asked Saleh “why if his footwork gets worse as the game goes on, why the offense has had such slow starts. [Saleh] said it has been dropped passes vs. Giants and defense not getting off field vs. Eagles.” Saleh has made a point to shield Ward from all criticism throughout the preseason and through three horrific regular season outings. Ward ranks 20th in accuracy and 29th in EPA per drop back this season. He’s fresh off throwing a game-deciding end zone interception against the lowly Giants in Week 3. Mitchell Trubisky will probably get a couple starts this season if Ward can’t turn things around.
